I'm home a week now from Art Is You Mixed Media Art Retreat and I've finally gone through all my photos. I've written about Art Is You so many times, I'll spare you the gushing post (but if you want to read more, click here or here or here or here). Since it's a long event, I have quite a lot of pics – you may want a cup of tea with this one!
I taught Art Journaling: Building Backgrounds, Art Journaling: Faces & Figures, and Tantalizing Techniques Assemblage. I was thrilled to see everyone take the ideas as mere suggestions and create art in their own style and taste. Here's a sampling:

Of course there were lots of shenanigans outside the classroom as well. It was great fun to see so many friends and to make new ones. One of my online friends ended up being my next door neighbor in the hotel… it IS a small world after all.
I learned a lot about bezels, ice resin and torches in Jen Crossley's class (fantastic – and I am hooked!). I've wanted to try my hand at stamp carving for a long while and it was great to learn how from Kari McKnight Holbook. There were all sorts of tips and tricks Kari shared that honestly never would have occurred to me. I don't know if I really have the patience to carve my own stamps, but I'm sure glad I know how!
